About The Event
This event is open to members in good standing. EAG requires new EAG members/designees to attend at least two monthly meetings prior to attending the Spring Planning Work Session. The Spring Planning Work Session is an opportunity to influence the direction of the organization in the coming year. In addition, targeted training is provided. Our training focus this year is helping you grow your edges to expand your confidence in your own unique strengths. We stand at the threshold between that we know and are familiar with, and the unknown. By discovering our individual strengths and learning new ways to act and react in our lives we will grow our edges and expand our capacity to lead even though we are not in charge. Think of it as standing at the edge of a cliff above the ocean, stepping off, and finding ourselves capable of surviving using knowledge and skills we already have deep within ourselves.
Work Session: Leveraging our individual strengths to support and mentor each other in reaching our goals
Members of EAG come together annually to plan and organize the direction and curriculum of the monthly meetings and special events. The business meeting is critical to organizational planning and development. This is when member input guides the career development direction and opportunities for the coming year, and helps deepen peer networking and support connections. We welcome your enthusiasm, ideas, and direction.
Training: Personal effectiveness - Bringing your best self forward
Back by popular demand, Haley Lowe, MA, will lead us in training designed to empower EAG members in his or her professional and personal lives. Haley will lead us through developing interpersonal effectiveness, to bring your best self forward in your position, your agency, and as a team member in your work environment. Haley will focus on goals of understanding and our growing edges while providing us working knowledge of how to capitalize on our individual strengths. Outcomes: deeper understanding of strengths and growing edges, working knowledge of how to capitalize on our strengths, build confidence in our ability to be leaders and change agents in our organization.
Training: Workplace effectiveness - Strategies for dealing with work place challenges
Utilizing the second edition of Geffrey M. Bellman's "Getting Things Done When You Are Not In Charge," Haley will lead us in developing strategies for dealing with work place challenges. Focusing on workplace effectiveness with a dash of building confidence in our ability to be leaders and change agents in our organizations. We anticipate you will leave the conference refreshed, energized, and with a renewed commitment to work and life, and the balance we strive to achieve between the two. Outcomes: list of ideas and strategies for dealing with work place challenges, renewed commitment to work life balance, and to develop a personal action plan.
